Leah Daniels, Beverley Mahood headline holiday show in Sunderland

After a sold-out show last year, Leah Daniels and Beverley Mahood are heading back to Sunderland this holiday season. The duo are headlining the ‘Home for the Holidays’ show at the Sunderland Town Hall on Sunday (Dec. 23), with performances slated for 2 and 7 p.m.

Beaverton student launches fundraiser to place candles at graves of Canadian soldiers

A Beaverton student has launched a fundraising campaign to honour Canadians killed during the First World War. Colby Farrell – who is currently in France, studying abroad as part of a Rotary exchange program – is raising money in an effort to place a candle at the graves at the Iwuy Communal Cemetery.

Olympian, author promoting positive mental health to students at upcoming workshop

An Olympian and an author will be joining Grade 8 students from across the township at Brock High School next week to learn about maintaining positive mental health. Jessica Phoenix and Julie Fitz-Gerald will discuss resilience and perseverance in the face of injury, stress, anxiety and depression during the workshop next Wednesday (Dec. 18) morning.
