The Mariposa Folk Festival is firing up in Orillia this weekend with capacity crowds.

Tickets to this year’s festival have sold out, with the exception to a few passes to Friday (July 7) night’s performances.

This year’s festival opens shortly after 5 p.m. Friday  with a tribute to legendary musician and Orillia native Gordon Lightfoot.

Featured performers include The Wood Brothers, Matt Andersen & the Big Bottle of Joy, KT Tunstall, The Rural Alberta Advantage, Tegan and Sara, Rufus Wainright and Feist.
