A child has been pronounced dead following a single-vehicle collision in Oakwood Saturday (June 17) morning.

According to the OPP, officers — alongside with Kawartha Lakes Fire and EMS — were called to to a single-vehicle collision involving a child shortly after 11:30 a.m.

“One injured child was transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased a short time later,” reads a media release.

“The highway is currently closed at the intersection of Bruce Street and Eldon Road as the investigation is ongoing and the public is asked to avoid the area.”
