Driver charged with impaired following collision on Highway 12

An Orillia resident has been charged with impaired driving following a collision on Highway 12 Sunday (March 12).

According to the OPP, officers were called just before noon after two vehicles collided in Ramara Township. Following the collision, one vehicle continued into a telephone pole and the second went into a stop sign and a utilities box.

“All parties were alert, and no injuries were reported,” reads a media release.

Robin Sydney, 57, has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and dangerous operation.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Orillia court on April 23.
