
A suspect is facing numerous charges after allegedly trying to purchase an electric bike with a fraudulent credit card at an Uxbridge business.
According to the DRPS, officers were called to a business on Lake Ridge Road on Tuesday (Dec. 20).
“The suspect attended the store to pick up an electric mountain bike with fraudulent identification and credit card obtained by crime,” reads a media release from police.
“When the suspect saw police he fled from the store. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested.”
Dale Conant, 44, of Scarborough faces numerous fraud-related charges including fraud over $5,000; possession of counterfeit mark; possess credit card obtained by crime; unauthorized use of credit card data; possession of identity information for fraud and six counts of breach of probation.
He was released on an undertaking.
