
A suspect has been charged following an attempted armed robbery in Georgina earlier this month.
According to the York Regional Police, the incident occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 when officers were called to convenience store located on Dalton Road, south of Black River Road, for a report of an attempted robbery.
“Officers learned that the suspect entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot prior to obtaining anything,” reads a media release.
The suspect was identified and was arrested last Tuesday (Nov. 22) when officers executed a search warrant at his residence.
Dane Hall has been charged with robbery with a firearm; use of firearm during commission of an indictable offence; careless storage of a firearm, weapon or prohibited device or ammunition; disguise with intent; possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized; possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized; possession of opioid; and fail to comply with undertaking.
