
A suspect has been charged with murder in connection to a house fire in Georgina earlier this year.
According to the York Regional Police, the body of 85-year-old Sandy Gauthier was discovered following a fire at a home on Miami Drive on Jan. 15.
“A post-mortem examination was conducted and the death was determined to be a homicide,” reads a media release from police.
Police say the suspect was arrested on Oct. 25 and is currently being held in custody.
Bradley Stricker, 21, has been charged with first degree murder, sexual assault and arson with disregard for human life.
“Investigators are releasing a photo of the accused and are appealing to anyone with information that might assist in the investigation to please come forward,” the media release reads.
