Two people seriously injured in Uxbridge collision

Two people were seriously injured following a two-vehicle collision in Uxbridge Wednesday (Aug. 31) morning.

According to the DRPS, the head-on collision occurred shortly after 11 a.m. at Ashworth Road and Uxbridge Concession Road 4.

“A 2011 Chevrolet Cruze being operated by a 21-year-old driver was travelling eastbound on Ashworth Road when it collided head on with a westbound 2013 Honda Civic being operated by a 44-year-old driver,” reads a media release from police.

The driver of the Honda Civic was airlifted from the scene to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze was transported a local hospital, and later transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

“Police would like to hear from any witnesses to this collision, who have not already spoken to police,” reads a media release.
