Two arrested following stolen property investigation in North Durham

Two people are facing charges after investigators reportedly located a stolen excavator, a classic car and other construction tools as part of an investigation in North Durham.

According to the DRPS, officers conducted an investigation into stolen construction/landscaping tools throughout the spring and summer of this year.

“Police arrested two suspects and seized a mini excavator, 1968 Chevrolet Camaro and numerous types of construction/landscaping tools,” reads a media release.

Kevin Delaurier, 47, of Uxbridge has been charged with three counts of break and enter; theft of motor vehicle; possess property obtained by crime under $5,000; fail to comply with undertaking and operate conveyance while prohibited.

Nicole Lewis, 40 of Stouffville has been charged with possession property obtained by crime over $5,000; three counts of break and enter and possession property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Both suspects were held for a bail hearing.

“Police are urging rural property owners and construction companies to take extra measures to securing their property,” reads a media release.
