Charges laid following robbery in Georgina
A Georgina man is facing charges following a robbery at a business Tuesday (June 21).
According to the York Regional Police, officers were called to the area of High Street and Middle Street for a report of a commercial robbery in progress around 8 p.m.

“Police attended the scene and learned the victim was assaulted during the incident and suffered minor injuries to his head,” reads a media release.

“The suspect, who was described as a male in his late 20s to early 30s, fled the scene prior to police arrival.”

With assistance from the Canine Unit, a suspect was located shortly afterward and taken into custody, police say.

Jacob Trudeau, 27, has been charged with robbery, disguise with intent and breach of probation.
