
A police officer rescued a young child from the Scugog River in Lindsay over the weekend.
According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, officers received a report of a young child in the Scugog River in the area of Colborne Street West in Lindsay shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday (May 21).
“Police responded immediately and found the child submerged in the water up to the neck. The responding officer was able to walk out on some rocks and pull the child from the water to safety,” a media release reads.
Police say the child was transported to hospital by paramedics, assessed and released.
