Emergency personnel are responding to a house fire in Georgina Friday (May 20) evening.

According to a social media post from the York Regional Police, motorists are asked to avoid Highway 48 near High Street as crews battle the blaze.

“Please avoid the area if possible and consider alternate travel routes,” the post reads.
