The election race is already starting to heat up in Brock Township.
Though nominations just opened at the start of the month, candidates have stepped forward for nearly all of the seats on township council.
In what should come as no surprise, Regional Councillor Ted Smith has filed nominations for mayor. He’s served two terms as Ward 5 councillor and two in his current position.
Mike Jubb has announced that he’s running for regional councillor following a term as the representative for Ward 1.
Political newcomers Peter Frank and Angela Canavan will be running in Ward 1 and Ward 3, respectively, while incumbent councillors Cria Pettingill (Ward 4) and Lynn Campbell (Ward 5) are both seeking re-election.
No candidate has stepped forward in Ward 2 as of yet.
The election is set for Oct. 24.
