As first responders continue to serve Brock Township, it’s important that Brock Township Fire Department remains properly equipped to handle all emergencies. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada recognized our need for new lifesaving equipment and recently awarded us a $20,265 grant to purchase six new automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and one AED simulator.
The new AEDs and simulator will allow us to give lifesaving assistance on-scene during cardiac emergencies and ultimately improve the lifesaving capabilities of our first responders when called into action.
“We are thankful to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada and our local Firehouse Subs in Whitby for providing us with this invaluable funding,” said Rick Harrison, Chief, Brock Township Fire Department.
“The added benefit of having the very best equipment on hand means everything because in an emergency, every second counts.”
The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada has awarded 279 grants to public safety organizations since 2015. This grant is one of 11 Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada awarded to public safety organizations during the most recent grant cycle. The 11 grants will provide critical lifesaving equipment valued at more than $279,000 across Ontario.
