Zephyr man charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault

A Zephyr man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault following a stabbing in Aurora.

According to the York Regional Police, officers responded to an injured person call in the area of Yonge Street and Spruce Street shortly after midnight Sunday (May 1).

“Officers arrived on scene and located one man suffering from a serious stab wound injury and another male victim suffering from a minor stab wound injury. The two victims were transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” reads a media release.

“Through the investigation, officers identified the suspect connected to the incident and he has been charged.”

Howard Scott, 33, of Zephyr has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and two counts of fail to comply with undertaking.

“Investigators are asking any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time who have not yet spoken to police to please come forward,” reads a media release.

“They are also seeking any video surveillance from the area.”
