Suspect in Lindsay shooting arrested during traffic stop

A suspect has been charged in relation to a shooting in Lindsay earlier this year.

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, officers conducted a traffic stop on Lindsay Street around 3:45 p.m. Monday (May 2) as part of the ongoing investigation into a shooting on Jan. 30 (see link below).

“Upon interacting with three occupants of the vehicle, officers arrested a male on an outstanding warrant,” reads a media release.

“While officers dealt with the arrest a second occupant also wanted on a warrant fled the vehicle on foot and was arrested a short distance away. “

Police noted that a search of the vehicle uncovered roughly 10 grams of purple Fentanyl and a quantity of cash.

Delawno Mason, 27, of Lindsay has been charged with attempt to commit murder; robbery with violence; break, enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence; knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm; knowledge of unauthorized possession of weapon; possession for the purpose of trafficking – Schedule 1 – Fentanyl and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime – under $5,000.

Tyler Ballantyne, 24, of Toronto has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – Schedule 1 – Fentanyl, pssession of proceeds of property obtained by crime – under $5,000 and failure to comply with release order

Anna-Bella Jones, 21, of Lindsay has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – Schedule 1 – Fentanyl and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime – under $5,000.

All three were held for a bail hearing.
