A 19-year-old Uxbridge motorist is facing impaired driving charges after allegedly falling asleep behind the wheel.
According to the DRPS, an officer came upon a vehicle stopped in a live lane of traffic on Concession 6 in Uxbridge on April 11.
“The driver was observed sleeping behind the wheel while the vehicle was running,” reads a media release.
“Upon speaking to the female driver, it was observed she had slurred speech and appeared impaired.”
Police say the driver was arrested and provided two samples of her breath, registering 220 ml of alcohol in 100 ml of blood – nearly three times the legal limit.
The driver, whose name has not been released, has been charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and exceed blood alcohol.
