
The driver in a single-vehicle collision that claimed the life of Brock Township teen and injured five others last October has been charged following a lengthy investigation.
According to the DRPS, the now 17-year-old driver was charged Friday (April 1) with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, along with five counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
The collision occurred south of Cannington around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021.
“A grey 2006 Chevrolet Sierra pickup truck was southbound on Sideline Road 18 when it lost control, left the roadway and rolled into a ditch,” reads a media release.
The vehicle had seven occupants between the ages of 15 and 17, police noted.
“Six of the occupants were ejected during the rollover and seriously injured,” reads a media release.
“One of the occupants, a 15-year old male from Sunderland, was fatally injured as a result of the collision.”
That victim was later identified as Brock Marshall.
