
A suspect is facing charges after a vehicle that was reportedly stolen in York Region was found in Lindsay.
According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, officers received information regarding a vehicle which had been stolen from York Region, which was believed to be at a location in Lindsay, shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday (March 24).
“Officers attended a Kent Street West business, finding a female in possession of the stolen vehicle,” reads a media release.
“During the investigation, licence plates on the vehicle were found to be stolen. The female in the vehicle was placed under arrest, she failed to identify herself, providing someone else’s name to police.”
Sara Vasey, 33, has been charged with possession of property, theft under $5000, possession of property under $5,000, obstruct peace officer, personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice and fail to comply with release order.
