New women’s flag rugby program firing up in Brock

A new non-contact flag rugby league for women is firing up in Brock Township this season.

Open to those aged 19 and older, the program will be held on Mondays at 7 p.m. at the Brock Rugby Club’s pitch near Blackwater.

Teams will be formed based on the number of players, experience and skill level.

“Players will be introduced to game concepts, rules of the game, proper ball handling and improved physical fitness,” reads a social media post from the club.

Each night will consist of warm-up scrimmages, ball-handling drills and full games.

Registratiion – which costs $100 – also includes insurance, a t-shirt and a year-end celebration.
