Suspect facing more than 30 charges following string of break-ins

An Ajax resident is facing numerous charges after being arrested during an alleged break-in at an Uxbridge home.

According to the DRPS, officers were called to four separate break and enters in Brooklin on March 18.

“With the assistance of video surveillance from the victim residences, investigators from North Division Criminal Investigations Bureau were able to identify the suspect,” reads a media release from police.

Police say that investigators located the suspect exiting a home in a gated community on Wyndance Way in Uxbridge after committing a break and enter around 4:45 a.m. Sunday (March 20).

The DRPS K-9 Unit assisted with the arrest and the suspect was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries due to a dog bite.

Sean Mackey of Ajax, is facing 30 charges including break and enter; mischief under $5,000; possession of property obtained by crime Over $5,000; breach of probation; breach of release order; and trespass at night.

He was held for a bail hearing.

“The suspect is responsible for numerous break and enters in Durham and York Region since January,” the media release reads.
