A 39-year-old motorist from Oshawa is in critical condition following a collision on Highway 12 in Scugog.

The multi-vehicle collision occurred near the intersection of Regional Road 47 around 2 p.m. Sunday (March 13).

According to a social media post from the OPP, the motorist rear-ended another vehicle before crossing the centre line and colliding with a pickup truck.

The two occupants of the truck — a 36-year-old and a nine-year-old child — were uninjured, police noted.

The investigation is ongoing.
