One suspect arrested, another sought following Lindsay shooting

One suspect is in custody and another is being sought by police following a shooting in Lindsay Friday (March 11).

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, officers received reports of multiple gunshots from a residence in the area of Peel Street and Albert Street around 11:15 a.m.

One male victim was located with gunshot wounds and transported to hospital.

A 29-year-old Lindsay man has been taken into custody, police noted around 4:30 p.m.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, has been charged with attempt to commit murder, firearm – use while committing offence, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm and possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.

The accused has been held for a bail hearing on Saturday (March 12).

This investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information on the case — particularly those who live in the area of Peel Street and Albert Street North and have video surveillance footage between 11 and 11:30 a.m. — are asked to call police at 705-324-5252.
