Uxbridge resident charged after police called about suspected impaired driver

An Uxbridge resident is facing a handful of charges after police were called about a suspected impaired driver.

According to the DRPS, officers responded to reports of a possible impaired driver at a gas station on Highway 12 in Scugog on Monday (March 7).

“When arriving on scene, officers located the driver in his parked vehicle with drugs in plain view,” reads a social media post from North Division.

“The male was arrested and officers located drug paraphernalia, a large machete, a baton and two knives in the vehicle.”

A 37-year-old man, whose name has not been released, has been charged with operation while impaired – drug; possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine; possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine and possession of a Schedule I substance – other.
