Police searching for potential witness to Georgina homicide

Police have released video of a potential witness to a homicide in Georgina last month.

The body of 85-year-old Sandy Gauthier was found following a fire at her home on Miami Drive in the early morning hours of Jan. 15.

A post-mortem examination was conducted and the death was determined to be a homicide.

Investigators have obtained video surveillance from the area (see below) and are looking to speak with an individual who was caught on camera walking in the area of the incident at approximately 2:40 a.m. — a few hours before the fire was reported.

“This person may have information that could assist in the investigation,” reads a media release.

A command post is being established in Miami Drive and the Queensway South in hopes of encouraging citizens in the area to come forward with any information  related to the case.

“Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area who have not yet spoken to police to please come forward,” the media release reads.

“They are also asking anyone who has video surveillance or dash cam footage from the area or of the incident to contact investigators.”
