It took a little longer than expected but Cannington’s first cannabis shop is getting ready to fire up.

Bud Runners – a family-owned chain that operates four locations in Northern Alberta and another in Oshawa – is set to open on Cameron Street Wednesday (Feb. 16).

“We love the small-town vibe and hope to relocate up here once the store is up and running,” said Alison McGahey, one of the owners of the local shop, in a recent interview.

“Cannington seemed to be a good fit, as I was familiar with the area, once I found the retail space everything else fell into place.”
