Snowmobiler from Port Perry charged with impaired driving

A snowmobiler from Port Perry has been charged with impaired driving after being stopped by police in Peterborough County.

According to the OPP, a vehicle was stopped around 1:30 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 7) by officers patrolling OFSC trail E108.

“The operator was found to be under the influence of alcohol,” reads a media release.

Jeno Eppel, 60, has been charged with operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Peterborough court on March 15.

“Officers will continue to patrol our roadways and trails and those drivers found impaired by alcohol or drugs will have a date in criminal court, have their driver’s license suspended immediately for 90 days and vehicle impounded for 7 days,” the media release states.
