
A DRPS officer is facing more than a dozen firearms charges following an investigation.
According to police, the off-duty officers was arrested Tuesday (Feb. 1) at his Oshawa residence by members of the DRPS Professional Standards Unit.
“Investigators seized three prohibited firearms and multiple prohibited devices,” reads a media release.
Kenneth Boone, 45, has been charged with 13 firearms-related offences including careless storage of a firearm; three counts of possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized and import a restricted/prohibited device knowing its possession is unauthorized.
He was released on an undertaking.
“Boone has been an officer with DRPS since 2003 and worked in the Traffic Services Branch. He will be assigned to administrative duties,” the media release reads.
