
Area residents should expect some messy weather to close out the week.
According to the special weather statement issued by Environment Canada, a “multi-day snowfall event” is expected from Wednesday (Feb. 2) and Friday (Feb. 4).
“Freezing rain or rain showers tonight will transition to snow by Wednesday night. Areas farther west will see a quicker changeover. Snow is expected to taper on Friday,” reads the notice for York and Durham.
Total snowfall accumulations from 10 to 20 cm are expected by Friday.
