
A Ramara resident is facing impaired driving charges after a concerned citizen reportedly saw them sleeping behind the wheel near Woodville.
According to the OPP, officers were called around 10 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 29) regarding a motorist who had driven their SUV onto the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs trail in the Woodville area and appeared to be asleep.
“Officers attended the scene to check on the well-being of the driver and commenced an impaired driving investigation,” a media release reads.
Daniel Ryan, 55, of Ramara has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
“The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days,” the media release notes.
