Police are searching for witnesses following a serious collision in Georgina Tuesday (Jan. 25).

According to the York Regional Police, officers were called to the area of Black River Road and Bayvista Lane around noon for a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a red Ford Ranger pick-up truck and a red Honda CRV.

“An 87-year-old female passenger in the Honda was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda was not injured,” reads a media release from police.

The driver of the Ford truck, a 48-year-old man from Sutton, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police noted.

“The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area, are being asked to please come forward,” the media release reads.
