
A motorist was charged with impaired driving during a RIDE spot check in Kawartha Lakes earlier this week.
According to the OPP, officers stopped a vehicle shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 19) in the former Mariposa Township and charged the driver.
Edward Ashwood, 65, has has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor.
“The accused’s licence was also suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days,” reads a media release from police.
The accused is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on Feb, 10.
