A suspect is facing assault charges following a break-in at an Orillia residence.
According to the OPP, an Orion Boulevard resident reported that a male had broken into her residence and left after an altercation around 10 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 19).
“The victim, a 37-year-old female, was transported to an Orillia-area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” a media release reads.
“The suspect is known to the victim and the incident was targeted.”
The Central Region Emergency Response Team and Central Region K9 responded to the area and commenced a search.
Police have arrested and charged a 33-year-old Orillia man with aggravated assault, break and enter to commit an indictable offence, assault police and breach of probation.
The accused, whose name has not been released to protect the identity of the victim, was held for a bail hearing.
