Police searching for suspect approaching children at Oshawa mall

Police are looking to identify a suspect that has approached numerous children at the Oshawa Centre.

According to the DRPS, a mother and daughter were shopping on Jan. 5 when an unknown male approached the seven-year-old child and grabbed her arm.

“When questioned, the male walked away. Mall security was alerted and a police report was taken,” reads a media release.

After reviewing hours of video surveillance footage, police say there have been more than a dozen instances where the suspect approaches youngsters in the company of their parents and makes some form of physical contact with the child before walking away.

“Police are concerned about this unusual behavior and would like to speak to any witnesses,” reads a media release.

Investigators describe the suspect as white, mid 20’s, with dark prescription glasses and brown shaggy hair. He was wearing a white jacket and dark pants.
