Update: The DDSB has issued a correction noting that all elementary schools are closed.

Area students will have to wait a little bit longer for their return to class.

With much of Ontario getting hammered by a snowstorm Monday (Jan. 17), buses have been cancelled to all Durham Region schools.

“All elementary schools remain open,” reads a post from the Durham District School Board.

“Secondary students will switch to virtual learning.”

Buses have also been cancelled in York Region and Kawartha Lakes.
“Schools are closed to students and remote learning will be offered to all students within the region,” reads a notice from the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.
