COVID-19 vaccination clinic cancelled in Lindsay due to snowstorm

Update: Clinics have been cancelled across Durham as well. “Clients with appointments are being contacted and their appointments will be re-booked,” reads a notice from the Durham Region Health Department.

With a winter storm hammering the area, a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Lindsay has been cancelled.

According to a media release, the HKPR District Health Unit has cancelled the clinic planned for the Lindsay Exhibition as well as those planned in Cobourg and Colborne.

Environment Canada is predicting a significant snowfall for Monday in the area.

“We apologize to everyone who has an appointment booked, but with the predicted snowfall we thought it best to cancel the clinic to ensure the safety of our residents, staff and volunteers so they didn’t have to travel in that weather,” said Medical Officer of Health Dr. Natalie Bocking.

Individuals who had an appointment booked at one of the HKPR vaccination clinics are encouraged to go back into the provincial booking system to book another appointment. Visit https://covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine/ or call 1-833-943-3900 to rebook.

“With the Omicron variant circulating in the community, it is still important to get vaccinated so I would encourage everyone who had their appointment cancelled to rebook to ensure they are protected,” Dr. Bocking said.
