A 15-year-old from Toronto is facing charges following an alleged sexual assault of a child in Georgina last weekend.

According to the York Regional Police, officers identified the suspect and placed him under arrest on Thursday (Jan. 13).

The teen, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Officers were called to a ski resort on Civic Centre Road shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 9).

“Officers learned that a 10-year-old boy had gone into the public washroom and a male had touched him,” reads a media release.
