A house in the Beaverton area sustained roughly $50,000 worth of damage following a fire Saturday (Jan. 8) night.

According to Brock Township Fire Chief Rick Harrison, the blaze broke out in a crawl space under a home on Cedar Beach Road around 11:15 p.m.

Roughly a dozen firefighters from Beaverton and Cannington responded to the call,

“Excellent job by firefighters to quickly contain the fire,” Chief Harrison said.

The homeowners were home at the time and exited safely. No injuries were reported.
