It’s the holiday homestretch for the Brock/Norma Green Christmas Wish program.
Named after its late founder, the program has distributed gifts to less fortunate families in Brock Township for 30 years.
With just days left before Christmas, upwards of 90 families have signed up for the program thus far.
The hall at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Beaverton is once again packed with donated items, which are being sorted, wrapped and delivered to local families by volunteers.
“The community has been incredible,” said said Ron Haines, a longtime volunteer who assumed the mantle of program co-ordinator following Green’s death in 2012.
“I know I say that every year but it’s true.”
Last year, the program delivered a happy holiday season to 80 families – including nearly 150 children – across the township.
