Witnesses sought following suspicious fire in Georgina

Police are seeking witnesses following a suspicious fire in Georgina over the weekend.

According to the York Regional Police, officers were called to an auto shop on Highway 48, north of Ravenshoe Road, for a report that a vehicle in the yard was on fire around 11:15 p.m Saturday (Dec. 18).

“Georgina Fire and Rescue Services attended and put out the fire. Fortunately, no one was injured but investigators believe the fire was intentionally set,” reads a media release.

“Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or anyone with video surveillance or dashcam footage that captured any suspicious activity, to come forward.”
