An online fundraiser has been organized following a house fire in Beaverton last week.
The initiative (see link below) in support of the Chapman family has raised nearly $1,200 this far.
“The family is completely safe and sound but can’t return to their home and sadly this just happened right before the holidays. The garage is completely destroyed along with their cars. Their clothes as well as other things are completely destroyed and smell like chemicals,” reads a post accompanying the fundraiser.
“The family said they would really appreciate a donation to help go towards – shelter, food, clothes, bills, pet food and supplies. This would really help them out especially before the holidays. While your nice and cozy in your home think of them they don’t have a place to call home right now.”
The fire broke out at the Nancy Avenue home around midnight on Dec. 15.
More than a dozen Brock Township firefighters attended and brought the blaze under control soon after arrival, noted Deputy Chief Wayne Ward.
