Investigation targets alleged drug trafficking in Rama First Nation, Orillia

Six people are facing charges following an investigation into alleged drug trafficking in Rama First Nation and Orillia.

According to the OPP, the investigation — led by the Rama Police Service — got underway in November and culminated last week with a traffic stop and the execution of search warrants at properties on Bigwind Drive in Rama and Orion Boulevard in Orillia.

“Police located cocaine, psilocybin, Oxycodone, Fentanyl and other drugs along with cash and evidence that supports trafficking,” reads a media release.

“The approximate value of the drugs and cash seized are valued at $35,000. Police also seized the vehicle, valued at approximately $40,000, driven by one of the accused. The vehicle was seized as it was used as a conveyance for the sale of illegal drugs.”

Barry Boismier-Stiles, 39, of Rama First Nation has been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited device.

Teenie Boismier, 62, of Rama First Nations has been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited device.

John Gilroy, 54, of Ramara has been charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance.

Kevin Larocque, 44, and Tiffany Madsen, 39, of Orillia have each been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Matthew Provencher, 37, of Orillia with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
