Scugog Township has issued a warning to the public after youths were seen playing on the ice at the Port Perry Pier Wednesday (Dec. 8).
The municipality shared a photo of the group on social media, reminding residents that the ice is still unsafe.
“This ice has just formed and is not safe for foot traffic. The impact of an incident could be tragic. Parents, please speak to your children about the dangers as soon as possible,” the post reads.
