St. Catherines resident charged in Kawartha Lakes following traffic stop

A St. Catherines motorist is facing charges following a traffic stop in Kawartha Lakes early Wednesday (Dec. 1).

According to the OPP, officers stopped a motor vehicle on Kelly’s Bay Road shortly after midnight and found the driver to be impaired by alcohol.

Richard Kidd, 47, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code and driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor.

They are scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on Dec. 17.
