Three people are facing charges following a recent string of thefts from vehicles in Georgina.
According to the York Regional Police, officers launched an investigation after receiving a series of reports connected to thefts from vehicles in September and October.
Investigators learned that a credit card and cheques belonging to the victims were connected to two of the suspects.
“A stolen credit card was used to purchase merchandise at a gas station in Georgina, and two cheques were passed in a bank for money,” reads a media release.
“With the help of video surveillance, officers were able to identify the suspects and they have been charged.”
Andrew Deschamps, 33, of Georgina has been charged with four counts of theft under $5,000 and four counts of possession of property obtained by crime.
Nicole Wood, 32, of Georgina has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and four counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of uttering forged document, two counts of fraud and unauthorized use of credit card.
Devin Mills, 34, of no fixed address has been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, unauthorized use of credit card and fail to comply with probation order.
“Investigators believe that there may have been additional thefts from other vehicles that have not been reported to police,” reads a media release.
“If you had items stolen from your vehicle, please come forward to report.”
