Police confirm identity of second body found near Woodville

Police have confirmed that the body of an 85-year-old woman from Whitby was discovered near Woodville late last month.

According to the DRPS, a post-mortem confirmed the identity of Tatilda Noble, 85, of Scepter Place in Whitby.

“Post-mortem results indicated obvious signs of trauma to the victim,” reads a media release from police.

Noble and her daughter, 58-year-old Ava Burton, were as missing after officers were unable to locate them during a wellness check requested by a family member on Oct. 14.

On Oct. 22, 30-year-old Joshua Burton of Whitby was arrested and charged with two counts of second degree murder. Police noted the suspect is the son and grandson of the missing women.

Their bodies were discovered two days later on a property on The Glen Road, south of Woodville.

Burton’s body was identified on Oct. 28.
