
A Kawartha Lakes resident has been charged after allegedly leaving the scene of a collision and resisting arrest.
According to the OPP, officers were called shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 9) after a vehicle reportedly entered the ditch and damaged property. The driver was located nearby, police say.
“The driver refused to comply with the officer’s demand to provide a breath sample and also resisted arrest,” reads a media release.
Kirk Jones, 55, has been charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand, fail to remain, driving while under suspension, fail to report accident and resist peace officer.
He is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on Nov. 25.
“The driver’s licence was suspended for an additional 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days,” the media release reads.
