The main street of Sunderland is prominently featured in The Tragically Hip’s new music video.

Directed by Sara Basso and starring Emily Hampshire — of Schitt’s Creek fame — the video for ‘Not Necessary’ opens with a bank robbery at the village’s CIBC branch.

The scene was shot in early October and features Hampshire making her escape from the branch to a waiting motorcycle with an alarm sounding and prop gun in hand.
