Durham Region is advising residents of possible lane restrictions in Uxbridge and Pickering.
According to a public notice issued by the Region, daily restrictions may be needed for the installation of a broadband fibre optic network.
“The broadband network installation will be taking place on Brock Road (Regional Road 1) between Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) in Pickering and Durham Highway 47 in Uxbridge, and along Durham Highway 47 between Goodwood Road (Regional Road 21) and Brock Street in Uxbridge,” reads a media release.
“While most of the construction work will take place in the boulevards, daily lane restrictions may be required during the project to complete the work in a safe and efficient manner.”
While the work is slated to run through most of February, unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Drivers are being asked to exercise caution through the construction area for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
