Omemee senior pronounced dead following Highway 7 collision

An Omemee senior has died following a head-on collision on Highway 7 Tuesday (Nov. 2) afternoon.

According to the OPP, emergency personnel were called to the scene, just east of Omemee, around 2:15 p.m.

The collision involved a SUV and a sedan, police noted.

Elsie Lees, 78, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours for a police investigation.
